Actually, I'm doing the same to my '53. I ran a four wire trailer ribbon before I installed the head liner, so I don't need to fish wires in. But I think removing the section of head liner over the drivers door ought to enable fishing the wires in. I ran four wires, maybe I'll want a cargo light some day.

The hole you need is 2 1/16" by 4 1/2", but I think may be off center.

I'll email you a pic of the template I made. Make one your self, be sure it fits the light body, put the light in to the template and mark the center of the light, position the template on the center of the headliner, then trace it onto the headliner. Cut with whatever, but if you have good paint, don't dent the roof with heavy tools. Much as I'm tempted to use a jig saw, visions of rusty pimples on my roof dissuade me.

I'm assuming there is an obvious hole to run the ground wire to? My light came with one about 6" long, eyelet on the end for a screw. Maybe we have to remove the window frame to find a hole for the ground screw?

Anybody know how high to mount it? I just guestimated about one light's height above the window frame.
