Speaking of Ambulance model designation, I am familiar with the WWII 1/2 & 3/4 ton ambulances, the M38 Jeep, and the M43 ambulance, but what is the designation of the USN Ambulance in the URL below? Clearly it is based on the civilian versions, is THIS what is known as an M615? Did anyone besides the USN use them? I looked at one that looked exactly like this, and was billed by the owner as a "1952 Military Ambulance". Could this be the one that Dean Mueller (mistakenly?) refers to as am M38A?
