White vs red oak...if its sealed and painted either should last your lifetime. Lots of red oak in my neighborhood (Wisconsin) and the big 6X6 and M37 MVers use the red oak because of ease of procurment and lower cost. Several of the trucks have been outside a long time and the wood looks and feels brand new. I am an avid woodworker and the quality of white oak for outdoor use is at times suspect but the local red oak is always top quality (and cheaper). Most people cannot tell the difference once it is sealed and painted. Have fun...two M37s at one time to explain to the spouse heh. (I am trying to sneak a nice WC home to park along side my M43)
