Cummins vs 440

I have an 81 dodge ram 3/4 ton with a 440.
I am looking to a new dodge cummins desiel because
the body on my 81 is not as nice as say a brand new truck.
But I am wonding if it is worth fixing up my 81 and making
it look nice or just by a brand new truck.

Will i loose power if I turn towards a new desiel.

Which engien puts out more power the cummins desiel or the 440?
