Wandering into Eaton/Fuller's site, I found their RTO-11909ALL. It has 11 speeds. The top 8 start at 7.41 and go up to 0.73, with constant jumps of ~40%. The low 3 are 11.85, 16.3, and 26.08. Three reverses at 3.43, 13.03, and 20.85.
It weighs 671 lbs. It probably costs about $7-8/lb.
No need for crawler boxes. It just bolts up to an SAE#2 housing (stuff you can get on the back of a Cummins B or Powerstroke). In a long wheelbase rig you'd use a divorced NP205 or Rockwell T-223 or T-226.
