Actually, this winch was special order for HD applications on the M37
I have seen two of these at Military depots installed on the m37
It will fit fine, and drive just the same off the transmission PTO
The mechanics and soldiers liked the GarWoods better than the Bradens
due to the ease of clutch operation. (The Gar Wood clutch is completely enclosed
in the housing and does not get 'hard to work' due to weathering, dirt, etc)
This same winch was used on the REO 2 1/2 ton
multi-fuel 6x6 trucks also...Gar Wood made a larger 12,500 lb winch and a 15,000
lb model that was used on 2 1/2 ton and larger trucks.
