It is simply a matter of engine RPM's.Our poor L-6 engines (or any other) don't last long at the high RPM's they have to turn to make OUR PW's go over 45mph with the stock 36" tires and 5.83 ratio gears in OUR trucks.20"rims would use taller tires resulting in reduced engine RPM's at the higher road speeds we would like to experience.Higher gears are available at about $350-$4oo a set X 2sets=about$750-$800 not including having someone install them in case you can't.The real advantage to 20"tires other than just reduced engine RPM's is that when you need the pulling power of the stock 5.83 gears you can just put your stock tires back on.
