If that pan hasn't been off for 25 years, you'll wonder what the grey gunk is on the bottom of the pan. It's lead and lead oxide that has precipitated out of the gas oh so many years ago. As it dosen't burn, and it's heavy it stays in the pan. Mine was 1/2" deep! You should see the sump gunk on an aircraft engine that runs on 100LL!
Be sure you pull the valve covers and clean that crud out also.

My choice? 20w50 Kendall GT1. It's about $1.40/quart and holds pressure better at idle when the engine's hot. My engine has worn bores, and with 20w50 I don't have to add half as often as straight weights. I just let it slow idle warm up in the winter.
