While it doesn't do side-by-side comaprisons per se, it does cover a very wide selection of 4x4's, ranging from Cotta Four Wheel Drive (1900) to Unimogs. It also covers NAPCO, Coleman, Marmon-Herrington and other conversions. And of course Ford, Chevy, Studebaker, I-H, Jeep, Land Rover, Toyota, Nissan, and oddities like the M274 Mule and M151 MUTT. And of course (drum roll), Dodges. From pre-war to WWII, M37 and Power Wagons.

It isn't a very big book, but it is packed full of information, and lists what you'll find for engines and running gear. Lots of photos, too, including some rare and also some rough vehicles.

"Illustrated Buyers Guide - Classic 4x4s" by Jim Allen, MBI Publishing 1-800-826-6600 www.motorbooks.com. ISBN 0-7603-0340-1 $17.95.

I really recommend this book for all 4x4 enthusiasts no matter what they drive. trust me, it is the best book out there for under $20, and has more info than many costing a lot more.
