You may have done damage but probably nothing that doesn't need to be fixed anyway. The brakes may be adjusted too tight but that wouldn't have fixed itself. I'm guessing that the truck has had a recent master cylinder overhaul. If so, the pushrod going into the piston on the master cylinder could be too far extended. Back that pushrod off until there is a little bit of play in it when the brake is relaxed.
