when fuel is one of the larger input costs,and it has risen 10 15 percent of the regular cost it eats out the bottom line>you end up working for nothing or worse, losing money>look at agriculture here in canada with world trade prices, quotas on produtions and fixed product pricing, the earth has been scroched clean of farmers >since the first oil embargo in the seventies, oil, fetilizer,and related chemicals have driven out what was once a thriving industry ,one in 20 people where in the agriculture scene> today we have reached a crisis of biblical proportions>we have now a suicide "hot line" for farmers in distress >the independant man (woman) cannot compete with the corporate farm who purchase's in volume ,finance ther own operation,and buy up farms and equipment for pennies on the dollar sad J
