Well, a stock one has anywhere from 500-625ft/lbs but with a little buggery...it's not very hard to see 1200ft/lbs out of one.
As you can imagine, a stock clutch won't like those changes & so either a ferric or ceramic clutch is pretty much the only option.
Everyone seems to be switching to the new dual disc ceramic clutches but I preferred the Southbend Ferric single disc. The dual disc is noisy. It rattles.
You should see what the flywheel looks like once you've run one of these ferric clutches for a couple of years. The clutch literally welds itself to the flywheel every time you engage it. The first flywheel I saw that came out.....I couldn't believe my eyes. Looked like someone had purposely ruined it & Piers Diesel was re-installing it as-is! I asked why they werent facing the flywheel?? They asked me why?....it'll just look like that again in another 500 miles!
