I do not have an answer to your heater hose question but I could not help but notice the fuel line in your photo. It may just be the angle of the photo but it looks like the line is located very close to the manifold. If you ever experience vapor lock, this will probably be the reason.

I have found on my Power-Wagons that I can prevent vapor lock by bending new fuel lines to run from the fuel pump straight out close to the fender, straight up, then back to the carburetor, keeping them as far away from the manifold as possible. Doing this cured the vapor lock that would occasionally happen during first gear field work.

BTW. Nice honeycomb radiator!
