David...don't do it. For starters, the 96' has a Bosch 7100 injector pump (virtually bullet proof) You can "bomb" up the 96' mechanically and keep it easy to fix and maintain. read what Bruce says about Cummins. I am running a 97' 3500 automatic ...Power Pak ...Red Oak Injectors...and AFE Mega cannon Air induction...Pulling 37 lbs of boost which equates to 370 hp and around 725 ft/lbs of torque...all done mechanically. Oh and it will be less expensive in the long run.
