Maybe the Armstrong steering is getting weak? With frequent use, it should gradually improve.

Are you sure you had the wheel all the way to the stops? I sure learned with my ambulance what a difference tires make. My "beater" M37 with NDTs with 50 lbs of air in them is reasonably easy to steer, but the M43, with buckshot mudders is a whole different story. It's completely impossible to move the tires with the truck stationary on any surface stickier than glare ice. Even with the M37, which I believe has a shorter wheelbase than an FFPW, I'm surprised that the turning radius isn't tighter than it is. I graded the sharp turn going into my cabin so I can just make it with my '67 chevy pickup, which was my only truck at the time. That serves as a good comparison for other rigs. I was surprised that neither the M37, nor my girlfriend's Toyota SR5 with power steering, could make that turn in a single pass, but the old Chevy, which is longer than either of them, can do it just fine. The difference has to be in how far the front tires can turn.
