For the past 2 nights, I have been going thru NAPA catalogs looking for windshield wiper motors that will fit Power Wagons. The criteria for a quality, high power motor is;

1. Small Package that will fit in the Valance Area, using existing holes

2. Motor shaft centerline must be the same centerline as the wiper output shaft

3. Motor must have a threaded drive sleeve that goes thru the cab and is retained with a gasket, trim ring and nut.

Due to design of the forward cab roof area, the windshield hinges create a space problem. Motors with horizontal motors must point towards the center of the truck. As seen in the picture, wiper outputs not in centerline with the motor centerline, will not line up when mounted, motors towards center. This is a real problem, the motors pictured will rip your arm off, but the two wipers would be at different locations on the cab. There is not enough room to vertically offset to correct this.

The NAPA Catalogs contained a couple hundred motors used on all American and all Popular Import, Cars and Trucks from 1965 to date. A few of them looked promising, but lacked the threaded portion to mount to the cab and waterproof. Some were designed with a square drive that fit into the wiper assembly in each manufactures wiper system design. After going thru the catalogs and all the motors, I have a high degree of confidence that there are no 'Plug and Play' wiper motors used on US Cars, Trucks and Popular imports that will suit out needs. This includes all tail gate wiper motors also.

I am now turning to Industrial Wiper Motors, such as used by companies that build industrial equipment needing wipers. The Wiper Motors shown in the picture, are Industrial. My NAPA store is working on this with me. There is a answer, but its not found yet.
