Replaced a 30', Craftsman tape measure at Sears in Manchester, NH a few weeks ago.

The new deal is, they don't replace the whole unit if the blade(aka tape) is broken. You have to crush the body of the tool.

The new one is red which means they are slowly phasing out the yellow ones(which I turned in) so they know how to deal with replacing or fixing that tool for a parts fee.

Go to flea markets and buy the tools cheap and or broken. Go to Sears and replace them.

Stand up for the original aggrement and go beyond the clerk and get what you want.

Home Depot's mechanic toolls come with a lifetime garrantee.

QUESTION FOR THE DAY!!
Has anyone ever been stopped by store security and told that they NEED to see your reciept before you leave the store??

I am interested in how others handle this situation. There is a resaon for asking with the Sears tool policies.
