Nothing wrong with a 7.3...lots of guys love them. I dare say for every Cummins guy, there are 2 Ford Powerstroke guys.
I prefer Cummins but only because they're less complicated & seem to burn less fuel.
I had great success with my 7.3 & my friend has a Ford 6.0 with 150K never had an oil leak or a bolt turned on the engine or transmission yet. He has 2 pictures on his computer he loves to taunt me with, both when he's had to tow my Dodge home when it's broken down.
Once a First Gen where the turbo came loose...once on my 2005 when it started doing all kinds of computer related backfiring.
I'd have no qualms about driving another one if the truck & the price were right.
I'd rather have a Powerstroke truck with 80K than a Cummins truck with 200K. Either engine will have 200K left in it & the Ford would be in way better shape.
Don't believe everything you read on forums. More miners, contractors, loggers drive Fords than Dodge & they keep going back for more so they can't be all bad.
Not to mention, even 25% of this forum drive Fords! Shhhhhh!
