We had a bunch of rummies living not to far away, they repaired gas tanks>Heres what they did 1)they removed the sending unit 2)they pressure washed the inside and outside of the tank 3)if there were large holes they sanded (bare metal) area applied fiberglass (the stuff that looks like cheese)spread it out smooth and let it harden 4)they applied a little grease were they sending unit and pick up when in 5)they had two saw horses with a axle like set up they would clamp the gas tank with wood to the opposing axles 6)they would mix up a half gallon of fiberglass resin(the stuff that looks like syrup) with hardner pour it in the tank and spin it till the fiberglass stuff hardend 7)Then they would clamp the tank in the opposite direction pour in the other half of the gallon of the liquid fiber glass and spin the tank again till it hardened> OK i know your going to ask what they did to stop it from running out the sending unit> They put a piece of plastic cut to the hole size and duct taped it, hence the grease and no fiberglass would be stuck where you put the sending unit>Not only were these guys always high, the made a good buck at this >BUT i dont want to recieve any death threats if it doesnt work for you J
