With out a doubt ALWAYS use a good quality set of safety chains when pulling a trailer!!!!! If as said there is a problem the trailer will stay with the pull vehicle. Also alway's "X" your chains. Never put left on left and right on right. By doing the X this will help keep your tongue from draging the ground..
