I was not so lucky. Mine broke off right at the end of the splines. Not only that it broke in radial cracks back into the differential. That caused the axle to expand and it could not be pulled out of the differential even when the diff was laying on the floor. I ended up drilling into the center of the axle which relieved pressure and I was able to get bits and pieces out.
