They started using the scientific ballistic test to solve crimes in 1927. So if someone was hiding it from that it was done after 1927. Sounds like a wild town. Thanks for the story. I love that old stuff. Have you ever been to Bodie over near Yosemite? The mining town is opened to turists and everything is left as it was when the town closed down. Stuff left on shelves old clothes everything. They say you will have bad luck forever if you take anything with you. Lots of people have done that and end up returning whatever they took.
