3 years a go this time of year i was burning brush from the trees i cut >It was a good blaze ok ,about 9 p m fire and rescue shows up . I know them all personaly its a small comunity. The chief ,Tim is knocking at my door , he says that they have recieved a complaint about smoke.I asked who complained,he said the guys in the log house down the road. They said they could smell smoke. I said ok no need to reel out the inch and a quarter line, i'll go out and put out the fire. Big mistake all we did was make more smoke so i took the big loader and covered up the fire with snow.Not quite the end of the story .AT 3 a m there is a pounding at the door its fire and rescue.Now i am in my longjohns and have my remington pump in my hand (who the hell shows up at 3 am savy)they said again ,they have recieved another call from the "guys" in the log house . I said in no uncertain term "you go over and tell Jack Twist and Ennis Delmar over there its legal to burn " and "take those fire trucks back to town" .Tims reply was, "well we are going to bill two trips out at nine hundred a piece and we will have call the police" .Now cops thats just what i needed. I was pissed now i gave Tim 2 minutes to clear the trucks.! I went to get the loader to help them move, which they did. They beat a retreat to the side road and i parked the loader across the end of the drive way and turned my hounds out . By now the cops arrived but the didnt have a warrant to enter the place so the whole show just left !!!! never did get a bill for the two calls either.
