Here's another good one to chew on. We have a refinery located in North Pole that draws oil directly from the line, then ships gas & diesel to Anchorage. Here's where it gets interesting - gas and diesel are cheaper in Anchorage (over 300 miles away) than they are in Fairbanks (12 miles away). I'm sure there is a reason for this, but it is usually explained away as supply and demand.
