I read Earl's post about wanting a half track. What the heck, I looked on ebay. There's a very interesting one with a working dump bed! The bed looks about right for WWII. I don't know if the engineers or seabees used half track dumps. I can see it making sense but have never encountered a reference to one. After the war, so many surplused vehicles were converted into so many practical civilian uses anything is possible. Like Davey Tree (which is an international company), I'm an arborist. A company in California had a whole fleet of postwar surplus including a half track with a mist blower mounted on it. They also had a mist blower on a FFPW chassis and a FFPW with a bread truck body for carrying tools.

Anyway, the opening bid is $5,000.00 with no bids yet and no reserve. the hammer hits the block on March 4.
