I had never heard of Bill Staines until Michael Johnson sent the CD to me. Mr. Staines has a nice clean sound. I would personally compare his music to sort a mixture of Burl Ives and John Denver. There is one song on the CD that reminds me of an Irish folk song. Though I can't dance, my feet want to move each time I play it.

You might remember the name Michael Johnson from past issues of the Power Wagon Advertiser and/or the Vintage Power Wagon Rally in Fairfield, Iowa. Michael is a traditional large format photographer. His 38' x 48' prints can be seen displayed in prominent public places such as the halls of the University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, Iowa. Michael is also an avid Power-Wagon enthusiast. He once owned a finely restored 3/4-ton Carryall in which he traveled around the country in pursuit of photo subjects. He also operates a sawmill where he cuts select hardwoods that are used in the making of fine furniture. His log skidder is a restored Power-Wagon wrecker.

The photo on the Journey Home CD is but a small part of a much larger photo composed by Michael Johnson of an old road and surrounding landscape located a few miles south of where I live. Other images of the bridge and flora can be seen in the booklet contained in the CD case.

Spence is correct. The Power-Wagon seen on that two-track road is my '47 WDX. That is but just one of the roads I occasionally travel with my trucks in order to get to where ever I may be going. Other images of my truck, as well as other vintage Dodge Trucks, can be seen on Michael Johnson's website at the link below.
