some engines are both industrial and automotive depending on setup. think 4bts in trucks and forklifts and generators. mostly the same - setup differently. i think paulin ny is converting a 4bt from auto to industrial. same with the dodge flatheads - used in many static and moving appliations.

we have yard jockies at our company - all ottowas with 6bta cummins engines - half are road ready and certified and 1/2 are off road only.

i have a boat now with a 120 horse lehman ford diesel engine. way too big for a pw size wise, but it is a 6 cylinder. i could certainly register a converted dodge at dmv with a 6cyl diesel no prob. i did it with my m37 v8 conversion. if i had a really good candidate from any strange application, id do it. some john deere marine engines look about perfect for a dodge.

i cant imagine anyone anywhere at a dmv knowing enough about a conversion engine to have a gripe. i had dmv ammend my registration on my m37 to reflect a v8 conversion.
