My shaft is definitely not a pressed fit. I had to tap it in lightly when I put it back together but it's not a very tight fit.

A new shaft is only $20 from VPW and I think I can insert the new one while pushing the old one out. But, I don't know if the shaft needs to be replaced or if it's the housing.
