I just got back from a Dyno run at "The Dyno Shop" in Santee, Ca.

Max rear wheel Hp, 54 @ 2800 rpm
Max torque, 124 @ 2,000 rpm

That was a stock 230. Those carbs run pretty rich, air/fuel ratio was 10:1 any place above 2300. That's after I down jetted. Any smaller jets make it surge. I've always though due to alll that surface area in the combustion chamber of a flat head. Hemis they ain't.
