Well, this story has nothing to do with Dodges or any vehicle I can think of. If you need a truck story read no further.
For the last several mornings, when I would get to the kitchen to make my coffee, there would be lots of trash pulled out of the garbage can. Like most houses in the country we get an influx of mice when the weather gets cold. When they get out of control I will set traps for a few days and knock the numbers down a bit. I was starting to think I needed to set some traps, but the garbage thing made me think I might be dealing with something bigger than a mouse.
Last evening, Joan went to start the broiler to cook dinner and it wouldnt light. I didnt want to get into troubleshooting a gas appliance so I said call an appliance repairman. One of her tax clients is a repairman so she called him this morning. Jack called back in the afternoon and said he would come over this evening. He arrived at 7:00 and immediatly finds a wire chewed off. While searching for the other end of the wire, he finds 2 more chewed off. Totally severed, not just the insulation. The blanket insulation that covers the sides and top of the stove were a total mess, and full of rat turds. Jack said he could replace the insulation and repair the wires but there would be no way to know if there were other wires damaged and the stove was a potential fire hazard. We decided at that point to go stove shopping tomorrow. Jack graciously offered to help me carry the stove out onto the porch, and I accepted. We picked it up and were just going out the door when the insulation (that we had just been poking around in) opens up and a big brown rat pops out. I saw it first and just about soiled the old fruit of the looms. The rat went back into the insulation and the stove ended up on the porch. EEEEUUCKKKK Man I hate rats. I would never make it in a city.
Well, thats enough excitement for one day!
Oh wait, here is some Dodge content, we will bring the new stove home tomorrow in the Ram. There.
Tim
