i have (and paul in NY) has some good info on wood gassification. its a process that uses wood gas (from burning wood in a controlled container attached to the vehicle) and directly injecting into an engine where the carb would normally reside. the wood gas passes through an oil bath to remove particulates before entering the intake manifold. i came very close to buying a chevy that had a flatbed installed with the unit mounted in the back. the gasification unit was well done and the gent used a dual single carb intake so he could switch between reg gas in one port and wood gas in the other. alas, it was a chevy and the novelty factor did not overcome that. i think a wc 3/4 ton converted to wood gas would be a trip.
