I have worked for the Sheriff's dept. for over 21 yrs,all over the county, in a variety of assignments,deputy (Jails and Patrol), auto theft detective, sergeant. in that time I have seen the demographics change drastically. Hispanics are by far the majority of the population. Even the City of Compton, which is infamous for black gang violence, is majority hispanic. I dont disagree with the stats in the original post and would like to add that hospitals all over the county have closed due to the cost of providing free health care, meanwhile I pay around $400 a month for insurance (the cheapest plan) and I prob. go to the Dr. once every other year. I have about 9 years until I retire and cant wait to leave this State.
