The truck was only marketed as a 1 ton with 7600# GVW (7.50 x 16 tires / 4.89 gearing) and 8700# GVW(9.00 x 16 tires and 5.83 gearing).
Would it carry 1 1/2 tons? The fact that it could easily carry 3000 pounds was ignored by the marketing folks, probably to reduce registration fees and to avoid driver licensing issues.
Would it carry more than 1 1/2 tons? All of us on this Forum evoke Fifth Amendment protections and will not answer.
