Firewall modification is a little work to do, but worth it for the extra power if that is what you are after. I had to build a recess in the firewall of a 48 jeep truck that had a 4 cylinder to except a 6 cylinder 230 OHC jeep engine. You end up fabricating a lot of pieces and as long as your not in a hurry, you can do it.

In addition to the firewall, you probably will need to modify the rear cab underneath where the intermediate shaft clears and bed area (parking brake drum) if you have to relocate the TC cross member. If your cab and bed are not on the truck, put them on so you can see what you may be dealing with or look at another PW. All things considered you may be in for a lot of work to install the 6 cylinder. You can shorten the intermediate shaft about 5 inches only.
