Inspect your truck, soda blast the frame and look for damage. If it's just surface rust, you can rebuild that truck for a lot less than the payments on a newer one.

There are kits for your tranny to make it better or just drive it until it fails and replace with a new unit that will bolt right in. The Transfer case is most likely a NP242HD or the NP241, there will be a tag on the back side of it with the model number.
