I use PPG MP-170 Epoxy Primer. Its a catalyzed primer. When it cures, you can wipe off grease, oil and wax with PPG MX-190 which is a grease, oil and wax cleaner, prior to top coat. Further, MX-190 should be used to clean the surface prior to applying MP-170.

PPG MX-190 is the recommended cleaner for
MP-170 Epoxy Primer
MP-182 2K Urethane Surfacer
MBC Acrylic Base Coat
and many other products

The above information comes directly from the PPG Product Information (P Sheets)
OB10 MBC
OB8 MP182
OB11 MP170

May I suggest before you continue, visit your PPG Retailer and request P Sheets for all products your using. Without them, you dont know proper reducers, proper catalyst, flash times, mix ratios etc. Your operating in the blind. P Sheets are Free Handouts for each PPG Product. And other Paint Company's have their own P Sheets.
