You have to cut off the rivets that hold the brake backing plate on the rear axle.
There is a trick to doing it that has been mentioned many times. Grind the head of the rivets flush, drill though them with a 1/4" drill to a depth of about 3/8", then take a drift and drive them backward toward the inner side.
When you reassemble use grade 8 bolts and red thread locker.
