If you pickup an alternator from an M151(60 amp) and a 60 Amp conversion harness from Vermont Commercial Salvage, its an exact bolt up.
You will have to use the pulley from the old generator.The military used this system to upgrade ALL of their 21/2 ton trucks from the generators.
The alternator is a low RPM unit and will charge the batteries at idle, unlike the generator which needs the high RPMs.
Did mine 5 years ago and have not had any trouble since.
