Hey fellas ... didn't have time to wait for comments ... broke down and bought 2 new batteries with 850 cold Cranking amps each. the batteries I pulled out were only a year old (only 550 cold cranking amps each) but irregardless, I obviously am having a charging problem. As I stated before, the battery/generator guage fluctuates in the solidly green when idling and backs off the left side of green when accelerating -- I can't really say I trust the guages on the puppy though since my fuel guage usually pegs full all the time.

I guess it's time to decide whether to replace the existing generator or put in an alternator.

The question I pose is which is the best?

If an alternator is the choice which model/make will bolt up and attach to wiring harness etc...?
