Spicer/Dana axle question

I have a '67 W300. Door tag says "58 Spicer 70".
Does the "58" mean 5.87 gears?
I see references to Spicer 70 and Dana 70 axles. Are they the same? What are the differences?
I have a couple of books which just say that W300 had 4.88 or 5.87 gears. Is this correct? I'm thinking the "58" in my door tag means I have the 5.87 gears. What axles would have the 4.88 gears? One last question - does anyone know of any literature that gives specs on the different Spicer and Dana axles? Thanks.
