I think the history of the tiger goes like this.

Carol Shelby approached GM and Chry and asked them if they would provide the drive train for this vehical He was to take the sunbeam alpine and goose it up a littel both said no. Ford said yes.

Chry then inherited sunbeam in some kind of merger. They hated to have this car in their showroom because it was powered by ford. The first tigers do not have the emblem the later ones do.

correct me if I am wrong but that is the way the story goes.
