Room is what we lack in ourWDX-WM300 PW's.A V-8 would fit easier in a M-37 or simular type Dodge,but leave little room left in our civilian PW's.I believe the 80,s 4x4 american eagle(AMC) used a inline 6 258cu.in. eng. that is now a chrysler eng. used in the cj and jeep wagoneer,except the newer 258 eng. is fuel injected and sports about 190hp.Suppose you found an eagle w/258-auto-w/mated transfercase intact,would this not be a good setup for your situation?It might be a carbed eng. but in Jeggs and/or Summit mag. they offer an add on fuel injection system for the 258,IF Im not mistaken.
