A friend of mine just brought 2 601's in from Greece (very rough ) I read somewhere there were 3,500 601's made for the U.S. Military Assistance program (MAP) that were exported to friendly foreign countries. I have seen ads of ex USAF 601's (ambulance's) for sale, so I assume some of the 601's ended up in U.S. inventory. The Columbian who was advertising the $50,000 601's just recently sold one of them here (Fla) at a Kruse auction for $23,000, it was a drop dead beautiful vehicle, but not for $23k let alone the $50k he originally wanted for it, guess it goes to show that there's money out there, though I haven't seen any of it on my block!!
