I have a 78 1/2 ton with a 360. The right exhaust manifold has a heat control vavle that is damaged and leaking exhaust. the shaft is bent and the butterfly is broken loose from the shaft. Has any one just taken the broken parts out and welded the holes shut? or tap and put in bolts? This may explain why it takes a while to warm up. Will it hurt anything to just bypass this or should I repair it. One of the pins is also going to have to be replaced if I try to fix it since it is just about rusted off. The local dodge dealer has a kit but they can't tell me what it includes.
