Maybe no pot to stir at all. If you have a totally original PW down to the last nut and bolt it would probably be the honourable thing to leave it alone, but if you have a partial truck why not experiment.
I think it also depends on where you live and what you are looking for from your truck. If you need a daily driver for long drives away from your acerage then you might require some modern updates. If you are sticking close to home using side roads and not in a hurry why not enjoy the truck for the era it was built in.
