In the previous issue of Hemmings Classic Car magazine, the Editor discussed several economic ways to get a near show quality paint job. In the current issue #41, he outlines a response he got from Ms Lancey of the EPA. Apparently, after Dec. 2007, painters are required to use a properly filtered spray booth, HVLP equipment, training and CERTIFICATION. And, it's going to get worse. The EPA is looking into, by 2011, restricting the sale of autobody paints to only those that are certified and have a $100k filtered spray booth. It is too late to stop the Dec. 2007 anti-painting law, but there is still time to do somethng to protect our right to buy autobody paint. Please go to the EPA website, www.epa,gov, and voice your concerns now, before it is too late.
