The question would be: Does it actually have a timing chain? With enough miles it is very possible for a chain to wear enough to jump. I had a Ford 390 with 200k miles on it. The chain jumped a couple of teeth. I could was actually able to lift the chain off of the gears while the gears were still in place. But I still don't know if the 251 even has a chain.
