In 1999, my dad and I went over into Canada from Detroit to Windsor to visit our relatives. Of course, this was before 9-11 and the heightened security, but the border clerk on the Canadian side asked me twice if I had any firearms in the car. I assured her that I did not, twice.
They have been strict for quite a while, I imagine.
Then again, they don't have the handgun crime rate we have...hold on, I don't have my flame suit on! ;) BTW I do own firearms.
