The Winchester WMR or .22 Magnum as some people know it uses the same weight bullet as the .22 Long Rifle.
The difference is the WRM uses 40 grain of powder and can achieve velocities of around 2000 Fps. It is good out to about 100 yards.
Some people swear by them for varmit control, but I wouldn't bet my life on a 22 WMR stopping a mountain lion unless you were a dead accurate shot with it. Otherwise it's just going to make him a little more ornery
