I have one on My Ford 2001 E450 diesel, The thing works great. The dealer put it in when the truck was new. As far as installing it, I wouldn't want to. It has a ton of wires on it, it has to turn the ignition on and wait for the glow plugs to heat then start. Are you having problems with the door gaskets freezing? I have that happen on a few of my vehicles, not the locks freezing. I thing the silicon spray will help. The roll up door on my truck freezes and I have to heat it up with the torch. The starter saves a lot of time for me, the truck needs to warm up just so it moves, when its 20 degrees or lower.
